The latest volume of the Proceedings of the Rockbridge
Historical Society is now available. The 550-page Volume XII covers the
Society’s
activities from 1995 through 2002. Its 30 essays look at
history and society from Virginia’s earliest days (Pocahontas) to
Rockbridge County’s immediate past (Lexington’s new fire department
building.)
A copy of Volume XII may be purchased at Campbell House for
$24.00 plus sales tax. If ordering by mail, please include $4.00 for
shipping and $1.08 sales tax for Virginia orders. Orders should be

In Bill's Words: The Birds-Eye Collection,
a reprint of articles written for the Lexington Weekender by longtime
Society member Bill Ruble (1925-2000), was recently published by the
Lexington News-Gazette. A limited number of copies of the book (softcover,
320 pages) are available for purchase at the Society at a price of
$14.95 plus tax. The volume is also available in Lexington's bookstores.
