On Saturday, October 25, 1:00-4:00 PM, the Rockbridge Historical Society continues to celebrate its 75th Anniversary with an Open House and Book Signing to kick off its new exhibit, “Images of the Rock Bridge from Jefferson to Miley to Today.”
From 2:00-4:00 PM, Dr. Ernst Kastning (Emeritus Professor of Geology, Radford University) will be selling and signing copies of his just released volume, Natural Bridge, in Arcadia’s Images of America Series. The photographic history draws substantially from images in RHS Collections.
Also joining for the afternoon will be Jurretta Heckscher, Digital Reference Specialist at the Library of Congress, and recognized expert and collector of materials regarding the history and art of the Bridge.
From 1:00-2:00, local elementary school students will share their research and art projects from a local history unit on “The Streets of Lexington,” a partnership between RHS and the 4th Grade Virginia Studies curriculum at Waddell Elementary School.
